Gel Nail Polish

9 / 28 / 151 / 28 / 16

Screen Shot 2015-09-28 at 16.31.54Gel nail polishes come in a range of gorgeous and exciting colours and stay on for a minimum of two weeks without chipping.

The polish can be applied directly to your nail plate or over acrylic or traditional gel nail extensions.

They can also provide some strength to your nails, although results will depend on how fragile your nails are to begin with.

Removal & Care

Ideally you should have your gel nail polish removed by a professional nail technician, who should remove them by soaking in acetone then gently and careful buffing and scrapping, this should avoid any damage to your natural nail plate.
If you are going to remove them yourself, apply a generous amount of cuticle oil (or any oil) to your fingers then soak them in acetone until removed, then gently wipe the nail plate clean and wash your hands, moisturise well to finish.

Non-Surgical Face Lift, Info

9 / 25 / 151 / 28 / 16

I wanted to talk today about a truly great facial treatment called Non-Surgical Face Lift, some of you might know it by the name of Micro-Current or Caci.
I’ve been in the beauty industry for a little over thirteen years now and among other treatments which I will talk about again, this treatment REALLY does work.
Let’s get some perspective now though, it’s not the same as having a surgical face lift, but it does work, is safe and pain free (as long as it is performed correctly)
It’s an excellent treatment to slow down the effects the ageing process has on our skin and particularly muscles.
Remember the saying ‘prevention is better than cure’? It can be harder to fix problems than to prevent them.
A tiny weeny bit of the science now, this treatment uses a gentle low frequency current to stimulate and lift sagging muscles. It imitates the bodies own bioelectrical impulses to rejuvenate and regenerate the skin and muscles and smooths fine lines and wrinkles.
It’s excellent at correcting sagging jowls, cheeks, eyebrows and eyelids and with a skilled therapist you can correct uneven faces which I do regularly.
Here’s a little background, originally this treatment was invented to treat patients who had suffered with Bells Palsy and injury’s such as torn ligaments, the success from treating such patients led doctors to apply the current cosmetically.
To achieve a lift you will need a course of around ten to fifteen sessions, they range in price in different areas, but it’s well worth the investment. A maintenance treatment of once every 2 or 3 weeks is an absolute MUST or you’ve just wasted the money you’ve paid for the course. The standard recommendation for maintenance is every four weeks but in my experience, especially the older a person gets it’s not enough, the maximum I tell my clients is every three weeks. Some come every week, some every two weeks.
NB, if you go beyond the four weeks you’ll need to start the course again.
This treatment can also be used without having the course to maintain you as you are now, which ever way you decide to have the treatment, it’s definitely one I recommend.
Of course not everyone will have amazing results, it will depend on your skin, muscle tone, age, diet, lifestyle, genetics and how much care you take at home. If after the fifth or six treatment you are not seeing much results talk to your therapist.
A full face should take at least an hour to complete and should be comfortable and relaxing, the intensity of the machine should be built up over time as your skin adapts to the current.
I hope you found this helpful, if you have any questions please get in touch.
